Delete your JamEase account
JamEase · app.jamease.twa · Last updated: August 3, 2026
How to request deletion
JamEase has no self-service delete button, so deletion is handled by email. We do it by hand and confirm when it's done.
- Email jamease@proton.me from the address you signed in with, so we can be sure it's you.
- Put “Delete my account” in the subject line.
- Say whether you want everything deleted, or only some of your data (for example your practice history, but keep the account).
Email us to delete your account
We reply within a few days. JamEase is run by one independent developer, not a support desk, so if you haven't heard back within a week please send the email again.
What gets deleted
Everything we hold that is tied to you:
- Your account record — the name and email address Google gave us when you signed in, and the account identifier we key it on.
- Your favorites, streak, recent songs and practice time.
- The random device identifier we generated for your browser or app, and the usage records stored against it — sessions, songs opened, features used, prompts shown.
- Emails we've recorded sending you, and your reminder settings.
- Any feedback messages you sent that carry that identifier.
What we can't delete, and what we keep
- Third-party analytics. Data already sent to Google Analytics and Google Analytics for Firebase sits in their systems and expires on their own retention schedules. The same is true of the Meta Pixel and the Reddit Pixel, which we removed in September 2026: anything they collected before then still sits with Meta and Reddit until their own schedules expire it. All of this is tied to a device or browser identifier rather than to your name or email, and we can't reach into those products to remove an individual record. You can reset your device's Advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads, and clear the browser identifier by clearing the app's storage.
- Backups. Deleted records can survive briefly in our database provider's routine backups until those roll over on their normal schedule. They aren't used for anything and aren't restored.
- Nothing else is retained. We keep no separate copy of your account after deletion, and we don't retain data for a “grace period” in case you come back.
Deleting only some of your data
You don't have to delete the whole account. Ask us to clear just your practice history, just your favorites, or just the usage records tied to your device, and keep the rest. Say which in the same email.
You can also clear the on-device half yourself at any time, without contacting us, by clearing JamEase's storage: Settings → Apps → JamEase → Storage → Clear data on Android, or your browser's site-data controls on the web. That resets the device identifier and removes locally held favorites and recents. It does not remove anything already stored against your account on our server — email us for that.
