1. Agreement to these terms
JamEase ("JamEase", "we", "us") is a free website at jamease.app, built and run by an independent developer. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.
2. What JamEase does
You search for a song. JamEase looks up its chords, works out what key it's in, and shows you the scale positions you can solo over it with. It also keeps optional extras like favorites, recent songs, a practice streak, and practice time.
JamEase is a practice aid for guitarists. It is not a music-theory authority and it isn't a substitute for a teacher or for using your own ears.
3. Who can use it
You need to be at least 13 years old to use JamEase. If you're under 18, use it with a parent or guardian's permission.
4. Accounts
You can use the core of JamEase without an account. Signing in with Google is optional and unlocks saving favorites, syncing across your devices, and optional reminder emails.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping access to the Google account you sign in with.
- One account per person. Don't sign in as someone else or share your account.
- You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time — see the Privacy Policy or email jamease@proton.me.
- We may suspend or remove an account that is being used to abuse the service or to break these terms.
5. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the site, its song library, or its API, or hit it with automated traffic that isn't ordinary browsing.
- Resell, redistribute, or republish JamEase's content or data as your own product.
- Try to break, overload, probe, or get around the security of the site or other users' accounts.
- Use the site for anything illegal, or to send abusive or harmful content through the feedback box.
- Reverse-engineer or copy the site in order to build a substitute for it.
6. Songs, chords, and third-party content
JamEase does not host or license songs, recordings, or lyrics. Chord data is retrieved from third-party sources on the public web, and song titles, artist names, and the underlying compositions belong to their respective rights holders. Referring to a song on JamEase does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by its artist, label, or publisher.
The key detection and scale suggestions are produced automatically by our own analysis. They are often right and sometimes wrong — songs modulate, chord transcriptions contain errors, and borrowed chords fool any algorithm. Treat the result as a starting point, not as fact.
If you're a rights holder and believe something on JamEase shouldn't be there, email jamease@proton.me and we'll act on it promptly.
7. Your feedback
If you send us feedback or a suggestion, we may use it to improve JamEase without any obligation or payment to you. Don't send us anything confidential.
8. Price and changes to the service
JamEase is free to use and we don't collect payment information on this site. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may one day introduce paid features — if we do, nothing will start charging you without asking you first.
9. Availability & "as is"
JamEase is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't promise that the site will always be up, that results will be accurate, or that your saved data will never be lost. Please don't rely on JamEase as your only record of anything you care about.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of JamEase, or for lost data or lost profits. Because JamEase is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us — which is nothing.
Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using JamEase at any time, and delete your account by emailing us. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, or discontinue the service entirely.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use JamEase after a change means you accept the updated terms.
